After completing her B.A. Dance degree with distinction from the University of Calgary, Deanne danced for eight seasons with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks as a full-time company member. As a choreographer and independent performer; Deanne has created, performed and presented work in Alberta, across Canada and internationally for nearly twenty-five years. Deanne has been the Artistic Director of Alberta Dance Theatre for Young People, Artistic Associate for DSW and forming member of DSW’s Dance Action Group. As an educator, Deanne held a role as Sessional Instructor at the University of Calgary in the SCPA’s Dance Division and the Faculty of Kinesiology, instructor and choreographer for the DJD company, the DJD Professional Training Program and School of Decidedly Jazz. She is a featured guest choreographer and instructor in schools across Canada, including the School of Alberta Ballet and FreeHouse Dance Plus. Deanne works regularly as a guest choreographer for a range of Dance and Musical Theater programs in Alberta, including Foundations for the Future Charter Academy and Central Memorial PVA Drama. Deanne is teacher with the Calgary Board of Education currently offering Dance, Yoga and French at Bowness High School.
