Who We Are

We started 25 years ago with the brilliant idea of providing a summer workshop for piano students. We now offer eight fine arts programs and a special guest artist recital. Our courses are designed for fun and education for a wide range of interests and ages. Read further to see what we offer and if something interests you, click on the program title for more details.

Program Summary

Cassa Composition

Students aged 12 to adult will create music with an opportunity to collaborate with a play. They will have at least 4 different instructors.

Cassa Musical

This is a six-day program for students aged nine to nineteen years. Participants study singing, acting, stage movement and set design. They plan and produce a musical which is then performed at the end of the week.

Cassa Kids

Developed by four of Calgary's leading arts educators, this five-day camp provides children aged four to ten an introduction to the four artistic disciplines of music, drama, movement and art. Participants are grouped according to age and experience.

Cassa Playwrights

In a dramatic and fun-filled week of half day camps, students from seven to twelve learn how to write, rehearse and perform their own unique play in just five days.

Cassa Piano

During this five-day program, pianists aged ten to adult work on prepared solo repertoire and ensemble pieces with instruction from at least six different instructors, including guest clinicians. Workshops are provided on a variety of topics such as performance anxiety, piano technique, improvisation, composition, drama, art and writing. Students perform in two recitals to showcase the results of their efforts.

Cassa Recital: Our 25th Anniversary Concert

Guest performers present a professional concert recital which is open to the public. Tickets are available at the door or in advance.

Cassa Adult Piano

The Alumni Piano Camp is an intense three-day program for adult "piano enthusiasts" of all levels.

Cassa Jazz

Organized by well-known Calgary jazz pianist Derek Stoll, those interested in learning about keyboard jazz performance and technique will have five days of fun doing what they love to do. Designed for those from thirteen to adult.

Calgary Arts Summer School is popular and many camps fill early. The earlier you register, the more likely it is that you will get a spot in your choice of Camp. Avoid disappointment by registering early. Go directly to our online registration page or download the registration form here.
