Leanne Simpson-Cole

Leanne danced with The Alberta Ballet, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and The Judith Marcuse Dance Repertory Company in the 1970s and 80s. She also choreographed and performed in two musicals at Keyano College Theatre in Fort McMurray. After retiring from dance, she attended the University of Toronto and University of Western Ontario for a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education. Leanne returned to Alberta after university to teach ballet at the School of Alberta Ballet and began a 25 year career with the Calgary Board of Education teaching high school English. The lure of theatre, music and dance has recently tempted her back onto the stage where she recently performed in the ensemble of Windmill Theatre’s production of 9-5.
