Meredith Taylor-Parry
Meredith Taylor-Parry was born in Salisbury, New Brunswick. She spent her twenties teaching elementary school in rural Nova Scotia before moving to Calgary to pursue a BFA in Drama and eventually an MFA in Playwriting at the University of Calgary. She has worked as a playwright, actor and voice over artist, voicing many projects for radio and television including numerous anime series. Her play Survival Skills was the winner of the New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest in 2013. Shark Bite was shortlisted for the Carol Bolt Award by the Playwrights Guild of Canada in 2023. Other plays include Book Club (Betty Mitchell Award for Best Ensemble 2016), Book Club II: The Next Chapter, Devices and Jumpy and the Frog. Her work has been produced by Lunchbox Theatre, Alumnae Theatre, The 13th Street Repertory Theatre NYC, Sandbox Children’s Theatre and Wagonstage Children’s Theatre. She has recently enjoyed working as a librettist for Calgary Opera’s Let’s Create an Opera program in local elementary schools.
