Kate Weiland

Kate obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Masters of Teaching degree from the University of Calgary. She has composed winning dance choreography works for multiple dance studios, solo compositions, small group and large ensemble choreography. She has received numerous awards for choreography throughout North America.

Kate studied at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada and The Royal Academy of Ballet as well as the Edge Performing Dance Arts center in Los Angeles and the Millennium Dance Complex. She was dance coach and head dance teacher at Central Memorial High School for over a decade in the Performing and Visual Arts Program. Kate took high school graduation students to New York City on an enrichment field trip which has since been a tradition at the school for all students graduating from the program. As an educator, Kate strives to instill a passion in her students and has been recognized nationally for her talent and ability to teach students to embrace the difficult nuances of dance and find their natural skills and unique expression to best represent their talents on stage.
